Big W’s new CEO, Sally Macdonald, has filled a newly created role from her former employer, Oroton.
Ana Maria Escobar has been appointed to the new role of general manager creative (design, marketing and online) at Big W.
The discount department store has confirmed the departure of marketing director, Alison Jones.
“Alison Jones has made the decision to return to the UK with her family. We thank her for her contribution to Big W over the past few years and wish her well in the future,” a Big W spokesperson told Inside Retail.
Escobar, who was most recently general manager and creative director at Oroton Group, will begin at Big W on February 22. She has also worked as design director for Sportscraft and Pacific Brands.
Macdonald was the CEO and MD of Oroton Group from 2006 to 2013 and commenced her role with Big W at the beginning on the year.
