Woolworths Liquor to change name

Dan-Murphys-Double-Bay-2-copyWoolworths Liquor Group will soon change its name to Endeavour Drinks Group, in a move the group describes as “simply a name change”.

Company brands Dan Murphy’s, BWS, The Wine Quarter, Pinnacle Drinks and Chinese distribution business, Summergate, will continue to operate under Endeavour Drinks Group.

Martin Smith, MD of the newly named Endeavour Drinks Group, said the name change better reflects the company’s transition to drinks retailing.

“We landed on Endeavour as we believe it reflects our attitude and desire to always be looking for great opportunities. It’s about the strength of our commitment to keep discovering,” he said.

“Endeavour Drinks Group will build on the strong foundations set by Woolworths Liquor Group to deliver greater ranges and prices for customers as well as enhanced relationships with suppliers.

“I’m incredibly proud of all that has been achieved by Woolworths Liquor Group since its inception in 2000. We’ve grown from a business of bricks and mortar stores into a retail, digital and distribution venture with bases both here and overseas.”
