Williams-Sonoma hits Melbourne

williams sonomaUS-based homeswares and furniture group, Williams-Sonoma, has confirmed it will open at Melbourne’s Chadstone shopping centre on November 18.

The opening in Chadstone shopping centre will be the first Melbourne-based stores for Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, and Pottery Barn Kids and the second for West Elm, following the opening of a standalone store in Chapel St, South Yarra last September.

The four stores will sit side by side on the lower level in the west mall of Chadstone, occupying a total of 2505sqm of retail space and employing 140 staff.

In a global first, all four stores will be interconnected allowing shoppers to move easily between each store and shop across all four brands.

“Melbourne’s exceptional food and design culture is recognised globally and we are excited to continue our global expansion by opening four more stores in this vibrant city in time for Christmas,” Laura Alber, president and CEO of Williams-Sonoma said.

“When we opened our stores in Bondi Junction last year it was the first time we showcased all four brands together. We are replicating this when we open stores in Chadstone shopping centre where all four stores will also be interconnected.

“We are looking forward to sharing our exceptional home furnishings, unique in-store experiences and outstanding customer service with local shoppers.”

Williams-Sonoma first opened in Australia at Bondi Junction, followed by a standalone West Elm store in Melbourne.

Earlier this year, all four brands opened at Sydney’s Chatswood Chase.

All four brands ship across Australia via e-commerce sites: williams-sonoma.com.au; potterybarn.com.au; potterybarnkids.com.au; westelm.com.au.
