Western Australia’s first DFO to open next year

DFO perthConstruction of Western Australia’s first outlet centre, the $150 million development at Perth Airport, has commenced and is expected to open next year.

The outlet centre will be branded DFO and funded by both Vicinity Centre and Perth Airport Pty Ltd (PAPL) as part of a joint venture.

The new development will include over 120 specialty stores across 24,000sqm with 1500 parking spaces. The centre will offer customers international designers, premium apparel, mainstream fashion, childrenswear, lifestyle and homewares and sports and adventure all in one level. The centre will also include a selection of contemporary food and dining options and playground facilities.

“We are excited about the unique opportunity that we have to create Perth’s first premium outlet centre which will build on Vicinity’s extensive DFO eastern states expertise,” said Carolyn Viney, Vicinity Centres executive general manager of development.

“With DFO offering up to 70 per cent off designer brands all year round, Western Australians will soon be able to enjoy all the brands they love at the best prices,” said Viney. “A new home for fashion, we are confident DFO Perth will become shoppers’ new best friend.”

According to Kevin Brown, Perth Airport CEO, the development is creating an estimated 900 direct jobs including 250 jobs throughout construction and 650 ongoing retail and hospitality roles at the completed centre.

“The new DFO will add to the vibrancy of our city and our tourism offering to attract visitors to Perth and Western Australia,” Brown said.

Centrally located, the nine-hectare site is adjacent to Perth Airport.

In late July, Vicinity unveiled the first stage of its $350 million redevelopment in Western Australia’s growing Peel region.
