Swap a status for a doughnut

 

Donut KingFacebook feeds across the country are set to be taken over by donuts with Donut King to offer a free classic cinnamon doughnut in exchange for a status update.

Social media users who post a status update including the word ‘donut’ and ‘#donutking’ and show their status on their mobile device to the staff at  Donut King outlets will be rewarded with one cinnamon doughnut.

The social media campaign is designed to generate discussion about donuts, according to Donut King MD, Nicholas Brill.

“At Donut King we love to have fun, and we love doughnuts,” said Brill.

“We’re offering a free doughnut to all the other fun loving, doughnut loving people out there by starting a conversation about donuts through social media channels.”

Donut King expects its more than 230,000 Facebook fans to spread the message far and wide, with Brill expecting the brand to give away hundreds of thousands of doughnuts during the campaign period.

“Kicking off today and running until May 26, we’re expecting our classic cinnamon donuts to be the talk of the country over the next few weeks,” he said.

“As well as offering a free doughnut for a status update, we’re also asking for customers to take doughnut selfies – every selfie uploaded to social media using #donutking will go in the draw to win a year’s supply of doughnuts. We’re bringing together people’s love for taking photos of their food, taking selfies and giving them a chance to win an amazingly cool prize.”
