Partnering with Catch Group’s online and mobile takeaway ordering site, EatNow, consumers will be able to order and pay from its network of 2000 restaurants, all via the PayPal mobile application.

Since the launch of PayPal’s Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in November 2012, PayPal has been working with point of sale (POS) software providers such as Kounta, MICROS, Island Pacific, and Vend to integrate PayPal payments with current and future point of sale solutions.

PayPal has also confirmed a new partnership with hospitality POS provider, OrderMate. This will enable OrderMate’s network of more than 1000 cafés, bars, and restaurants to accept PayPal as a payment method in their physical locations.

Hundreds of cafés, bars, and restaurants can now be accessed through the PayPal mobile application, allowing customers to ‘check in’ and pay without cash or card by accessing their PayPal account.

With the integration of a coffee and food ordering solution, Beat The Q, PayPal customers can also order ahead at cafés and quick service restaurants around Australia, enabling users to order their coffees remotely with their smartphone so that they don’t have to waste time standing in line.

Hill Ferguson, VP of global product at PayPal, visited Sydney this week to showcase new innovations PayPal has developed in partnership with technology partners.

“PayPal launched the world’s first digital wallet, leveraging cloud technology to provide customers with a secure, financially independent, device-agnostic solution that provides true flexibility on desktop and increasingly on mobile devices,” Ferguson said.

“As we continue to work in collaboration with other leading entrepreneurs and innovators of all sizes, PayPal’s mobile application will increasingly be seen as a destination for consumers to browse local businesses, order ahead and transact at point of sale. The way we differentiate from our competitors is our maniacal focus on creating consumer solutions that harness the power of connected networks, solving real customer pain points and consistently looking for opportunities to simplify the lives of our customers.”
