Pacific Retail acquires Sushi Ginza

Sushi GinzaPacific Retail Management has acquired sushi brand, Sushi Ginza, which is stocked in more than 80 Woolworths stores, and selected IGA stores, schools, universities, and other small retail outlets.

The acquisition has resulted in Pacific Retail taking over the wholesale arm of the business as well as the Sushi Hachi outlets in NSW, Queensland, and Victoria, with further expansion planned in Queensland and Western Australia in early 2015.

Sushi Ginza and Sushi Hachi will now fall under the Pacific Retail umbrella alongside retail franchise brands Go Sushi, Wasabi Warriors, Sushi Tribe, and Kick Juice Bars.

Pacific Retail Management has finished 2014 with 50 retail stores by the end of December, including international expansion into Hong Kong, Dubai, and the Philippines with Wasabi Warriors.

Sushi Ginza founders, Anthony Moss and Ray Ang, have joined Pacific Retail to manage the wholesale business, with Moss taking the role of GM of sales, and Ang GM of product development.

Moss and Ang are partners in two sushi restaurants in Darlinghurst and Surry Hills.

“My new role will see me working across all elements of product development within the business. I will be looking for opportunities to grow, develop and improve the business and take it to the next level across both the wholesale and retail stores,” said Ang

Pacific Retail Management is relatively new to the wholesale arena, launching their wholesale brand, Sushi Tribe, a year ago.
