NightOwl’s new look

nightowlConvenience chain, NightOwl, has debut its new store model at Windsor Homezone Centre in Brisbane’s north.

The Brisbane-based chain says its new look and extended product line has allowed the brand to become a one-stop shop for local customers.

Store features include a ‘Fun Wall’, offering gelato and confectionery; an instore cafe; and a larger product range including ready made meals and healthier food options such as fruit and vegetables, wraps, and toasted sandwiches.  The 166sqm outlet is the 65th store for the growing franchise.

“This is an evolution of the NightOwl brand,” Adam Adams, franchisor, NightOwl, said.

“We’ve spent the last 10 months designing what the future of NightOwl looks like and how we can best serve our local community and be relevant in the marketplace,” Adams said.

“We have researched changes and trends within the industry to establish what are the best offers can we put into our stores, from hot, cold and ambient food products, to coffee, fresh produce, and a greater range of dairy products to make it a one-stop shop for the customer.

“No longer are customers purely looking for the standard products of drinks, confectionery, chips and tobacco in their convenience store – they are looking at what other items they can buy in the store to save them having to go to the major supermarkets.”

The new store also features LED lighting and closed in refrigeration, which will lower electricity usage by around 25 per cent and reduce the store’s carbon footprint.

“Additionally, the store features new livery using earthy tones and a modern design which makes it easy to shop in and a welcoming environment for customers.

“We believe we are at the forefront of change within the convenience industry and will be converting all of our stores to this model over the next 18 months to two years.”

Adams said Windsor was an ideal location for NightOwl’s first new model store.

“We are coming to a marketplace where there is a very limited convenience store offering and providing what is our latest and greatest offer to the local community,” he said.

Established in 1975 as an individual store in the Brisbane suburb of Auchenflower, NightOwl operates throughout Queensland, NSW, and Victoria.
