McDonald’s Vic expansion

McDonaldsOne thousand new jobs will be created in Victoria, with a fast food chain building eight new outlets.

McDonald’s will invest $62 million to expand its operation in VIC.

VIC treasurer Michael O’Brien said it would provide employment opportunities for many young people, and would teach them about teamwork and customer service.

“The fact there will be 1000 new jobs created between now and the end of the year is a real vote of confidence in Victoria and its economy,” he said on Monday.

O’Brien said there was no conflict with Sunday’s launch of an anti obesity campaign.

“We support everything in moderation,” he said.

“It’s part of the government’s health campaign. There are foods that you have sometimes and we’re very proud to stand with McDonald’s in this great investment, creating 1000 new jobs for Victorians by the end of this year.”
