Rob Gurney has stood down as CEO of Helloworld just 18 months after first taking over the role.
Gurney’s immediate resignation comes amid an extensive rebrand of the travel group, formerly known as Jetset Travelworld.
The group’s name change was announced in November 2013, replacing Harvey World Travel, Travelscene, Jetset, and Travelworld, as part of its plan to simplify its network of travel agents.
“During Rob’s tenure as CEO, the Helloworld brand has been successfully introduced to the Australian consumer, our new website has been launched, and over 750 travel agents have committed to our franchise models,” Helloworld chairman, Tom Dery, said.
Gurney has been replaced by Helloworld CFO, Elizabeth Gaines.
Gaines has been with the company since 2008 as COO, CFO, and an executive director.
