Sydney retail hub, Central Park, is set to launch its inaugural film festival, which will run from 22 to 25 October.
As part of the festivities, the event will introduce ‘the element of silence’ to its movie screenings; an initiative that will see guests wearing wireless headphones which block out all other noise beyond the sounds and effects of the film.
Central Park has selected eight films to screen including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy; Pitch Perfect; Pitch Perfect 2; Romeo + Juliet; BIG; Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; Cool Runnings; and 10 Things I Hate About You.
Tickets can be purchased for $10, which comes with a $10 dinner voucher redeemable at participating Central Park food retailers.
The precinct also recently launched the Discover Central Park app, which is designed to provide information about the development using beacon technology to push content including descriptions, audio tours, images and videos to visitors’ smartphones.
The new app features 15 points of interest around Central Park including the historic Brewery Yard and Central Park’s world famous vertical gardens created by French botanist and artist, Patrick Blanc. It also provides up-to-date information about Central Park’s shopping centre ‘The Living Mall’ including store and restaurant opening times, store information and Central Park’s promotions and events.
