Beaumont Tiles opens giant distribution centre

Beaumont Tiles Distribution Centre Rochedale Brisbane - Aerial - 2Beaumont Tiles, retailer of tile and bathroom fixtures, has opened a new 13,287sqm. distribution centre on the outskirts of Brisbane to service growing demand in Queensland and Northern NSW.

The massive head office and warehouse facility employs 75 people and will service Beaumont’s growing retail network of 28 stores in Queensland and stores and customers in Northern NSW.

Beaumont Tiles managing director, Bob Beaumont, said Queensland is a vibrant renovating market with construction activity and population growth in Southeast Queensland, western corridor and North Queensland.

He said the company has increased its national footprint by 25 per cent in Queensland the last five years and expected turnover to increase from $60 million a year to $100 million in the next five years.

“The opening of Rochedale is a whole new chapter for Beaumonts in Queensland and it demonstrates our deep commitment to the state and to grow with it through employment and infrastructure investment,” said Beaumont.

“We’ve designed the facility to suit our unique needs for stock holding and to vastly improve our heavy-vehicle and customer traffic management. This means customers can get what they want, when they want it and we can maintain market leading price points,” he added.

Beaumont has a 19-year lease on the Goodman’s Rochedale Motorway Estate (1 Brickworks Place). The facility, which is 60 per cent larger than Beaumonts’ previous sites at Archerfield, allows the retailer to run 16 hours a day.

The Rochedale opening is part of a $20 million dollar investment into Queensland by Beaumont. The retailer also recently launched its new high-end 730sqm. design studio in Montpelier Road, Fortitude Valley.

The opening of the new facility takes Beaumont’s national distribution centre holdings to 50,000sqm. across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide with the same footprint again in its 106 store network.

Goodman’s general manager in Australia, Jason Little, said the development demonstrated the retailer’s continued commitment to securing quality development opportunities in the highly sought after Brisbane market.
