Beacon Lighting lifts profit

Beacon LightingStrong sales growth from Beacon Lighting’s company stores have helped the retailer lift its full year profit 43.6 per cent to $16.9 million.

For the full year ended June 30, total sales increased 19.3 per cent to $179.4 million. A major driver for this growth was delivered by comparative company store sales, which increased 10.4 per cent compared with FY14.

Sales increases in Beacon’s commercial, international and solar divisions, along with new store openings also contributed to the overall sales rise.

During FY15, Beacon Lighting opened seven new company stores, brought one franchise store under company ownership and closed down one company store in Hawthorn, Victoria.

The company said its growth strategies will remain for the current financial year, including new store rollouts, optimising the existing store portfolio, and supplying the latest fashion, trend and technology advanced products.

Beacon Lighting also plans to enhance its online activities, leverage existing capabilities and actively investigate acquisitions.

The company said it was particularly looking forward to the potential growth from its GE licence and distribution agreement and the acquisition of two franchise stores in Essendon and Watergardens, Victoria.
