The Australian dollar has risen overnight to 70.81 US cents, up from 70.67 US cents on Wednesday.

The Aussie dollar also trades at 62.50 euro cents, down from 62.60 euro cents; 53.31 British pence, down from 54.07 pence; 78.73 Japanese yen, up from 78.69 yen; 4.749 Chinese yuan renminbi, up from 4.741 yuan renminbi; and remained stable at $1.03 New Zealand dollars.
