Australian dollar falls

The Australian dollar fell sharply after the reserve Bank’s announcement on Tuesday, hitting a low of 71.63 US cents, before recovering ground to close at 71.99 US cents.

The Aussie was buying 71.90 US cents on Wednesday morning.

One Australian dollar buys 81.67 Japanese yen, from 81.90 ; 62.24 euro cents, from 62.40 ; 55.38 British pence, from 55.35 ; 109.04 NZ cents, from 109.18.
