AMP Centres link to new shopper app

A free location-based app is set to deliver shoppers bargains when they stroll through AMP Capital shopping centres.

QuickerFeet for iPhone is a new app developed to deliver up-to-date in-store promotions to customers.

The Sydney-based start up has won the support of AMP Capital Shopping Centres, with a free app enabling consumers to see deals on offer around their current location and receive instant notifications from favourite stores. QuickerFeet will also enable consumers to instantly share deals with family and friends via email, Facebook and Twitter with a simple touch of a button.

All 20 AMP Capital Shopping Centres in Australia will be using QuickerFeet to promote deals along with many of the centres’ retailers.

Retail brands committed to the concept include: General Pants Group, Billabong, Lorna Jane, Bras N Things and Event Cinemas.  Thredbo, AMF Bowling and Rydges Resorts are also on board.

QuickerFeet founder Darren Winterfod says the app has been designed with both the consumer and retailer in mind and will enable bricks-and-mortar retailers to engage directly with shoppers via social media channels. Most importantly, it will provide retailers with the insight they need to be able to genuinely tailor their promotions based on consumers’ wants, needs and location, giving Australian shoppers a compelling reason to go in-store.

Winterford believes the app will “revolutionise” the way people shop.

“QuickerFeet provides the user with a live catalogue of the best deals from their favourite stores. happening around them now,” he said.

“There are no messy coupons or complicated redemption. They just go directly to the store as normal. Best of all the stores they select can send them instant notifications so they never miss out on their favourite brand offer again.”

The free app, which went live on the App Store 16 August (http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/quickerfeet/id422249255?mt=8), allows shoppers to set their ‘radar’ for offers and discover deals within a radius from one to 100km.

AMP Capital Shopping Centres head of marketing & communication, Stuart Langeveldt, said the group was proud to be a corporate sponsor of QuickerFeet because it uses online and offline for the benefit of both consumers and retailers.

“QuickerFeet helps to bolster bricks and mortar retailing, by using today’s technology to boost the in-store experience,” he said.

“Australian consumers will have immediate access to deals within their set radius and can share the deal with friends and family. This is an excellent way for store retailers to engage with their customers.”
