Where branded merchandise and hampers have long dominated corporate gifting, one Australian distillery is giving businesses a more personal way to say thank you.

Archie Rose, the Sydney-based producer known for its craft spirits and design-led packaging, has built a growing niche around tailored gifts – and in the process, reshaped expectations of what corporate gifts can be.

From its base in Botany, Archie Rose has grown into Australia’s most awarded distillery since launching in 2014, producing whisky, gin, vodka and rum using locally sourced ingredients. It has now taken the next step in personalisation, launching a dedicated corporate gifting website that lets businesses design and order their own branded bottles online.

A natural extension of personalisation

Rachel Stone, GM – direct to consumer retail at Archie Rose, says the idea came from extending something that had always been part of the brand’s DNA.

“Personalised spirits have been part of Archie Rose since day one – in fact, our Tailored Spirits range is celebrating its 10th year this year,” she says. “We’ve always believed that great spirits should be as unique as the people who enjoy them, which is why we’ve offered personalised bottles since our earliest days.”

Each year, Archie Rose sells tens of thousands of custom-labelled bottles for birthdays, weddings and other occasions. The leap into the corporate space, Stone says, was about recognising a gap in the market.

“When we looked at the corporate gifting market, we realised there weren’t many simple ways for businesses to order quality, branded gifts online,” she explains. “Seeing how much people loved the personal touch of our custom spirits, we decided to bring that same experience to the corporate world – and that’s where the idea for our Corporate Tailored website began.”

Taking the process digital

While Archie Rose has offered corporate gifting options for several years, Stone says the new digital platform marks a step-change in accessibility.

“What’s new is that we’ve now digitised the experience, making it much easier for businesses to create and order their own branded bottles online,” she says. “They can jump online and place an order in a matter of minutes – and have their corporate gifts sorted in less than half the time.”

The website allows companies to upload logos, choose label designs and even personalise bottles with staff names or messages. Minimum orders start at 24 bottles for branded labels, but one-off personalised bottles are also possible. “We’ve produced as few as one bottle, and as many as 200 or more, all with unique names on the front,” Stone adds.

Demand beyond the festive season

Corporate gifting typically peaks around Christmas, but Stone says Archie Rose’s corporate customers are active all year.

“While Christmas is a busy period, we also see strong demand for events, milestones, product launches and staff recognition throughout the year,” she says.

That year-round demand has helped shape the brand’s reputation as a partner to both small businesses and large corporates. “Whether it’s small businesses ordering 40 bottles or companies ordering hundreds, customers love how they can create something that is truly theirs – and the quality of the end result,” she says.

“Many of our corporate clients come back year after year, with some even placing monthly repeat orders. They often tell us it’s one of the most appreciated and memorable gifts they’ve ever given.”

Craft at the core

Beyond personalisation, Stone says what sets Archie Rose apart is its commitment to craft and provenance. All of the distillery’s products are made in-house at its Botany facility, using 100 per cent Australian-grown grains and botanicals wherever possible.

“Our gins often feature native ingredients like lemon myrtle, rivermint and finger lime, while our whiskies use Australian malted barley and are matured here in Sydney,” she says. “The result is a range of spirits that feel distinctly Australian.”

Label designs, too, play a role in elevating the experience. Businesses can choose from the brand’s signature label range – including solid colours, textured sandstone patterns, or artist collaborations – or create something entirely bespoke. “If a company wants something truly unique, including designing their own printed art label, that’s also possible,” Stone says. “Our team is happy to guide them through the process every step of the way.”

Looking ahead

While the focus remains on Australia for now, Stone says the company sees clear potential to take the model overseas.

“The idea of crafting locally distilled, beautifully designed and personalised spirits has a strong appeal globally,” she says. “International expansion is something we’re exploring.”

In an era where businesses are seeking gifts that feel meaningful, memorable and aligned with brand values, Archie Rose’s approach is resonating.

Stone says the company’s strategy revolves around merging craftsmanship with technology to deliver something that feels both personal and premium.

“At the end of the day, we want to make it easy for businesses to create something thoughtful and distinctly theirs,” she says. “That’s what makes a gift truly worth giving.”
