Retailers both large and small will offer special discounts to front line workers across Australia on June 30 to commemorate First Responders Day.

Australian Retailers Association (ARA) CEO Paul Zahra said first responders continue to go above and beyond to keep people and communities safe.

“Whether it’s the emergency services personnel, alongside community members, helping to rescue those stranded by the floods in northern NSW, or the doctors and nurses working around the clock caring for patients in overcrowded hospital wards, our first responders are always there,” he said.

The campaign is in its third year with major retailers across fashion and accessories, household and lifestyle, health and technology, food and beverage, offering discounts on in-store and online products. First responders can either shop in their uniforms or produce a photo ID with their work identity to receive the discounts.

“First Responders Day is now a permanent fixture on Australia’s retail calendar, and this is our small way of saying ‘thanks’ to those who sacrifice so much to keep us all safe and healthy,” said Zahra.

The list of participating businesses can be accessed on ARA’s website.
