Estee Lauder names Michael Bowes as VP, chief people officer with global remit

The Estee Lauder Companies has promoted Michael Bowes to EVP and chief people officer, effective April 1.

Bowes will be the first to hold the title of chief people officer at Estee Lauder and will oversee all areas of global human resources.

After joining Estee Lauder in 2015 as VP of global talent acquisition and became the company’s SVP of global talent in July 2019. Before that, he held several leadership roles in various companies, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Tommy Hilfiger, Cole Haan, Nike, Coach, and Karen Harvey Consulting.

Bowes will succeed EVP and chief human resources officer Michael O’Hare, who is set to retire, effective April 1.

In January, the company said Peter Jueptner will step down as group president, International of The Estee Lauder Companies later this year.
