Spotlight launches click and collect in Stage 4 Melbourne

As Covid-19 cases across the state begin to slow thanks to the implementation of Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne, Victorians are bracing for another four weeks of lockdown.

And Melbournians that have taken up craft to get them through are now able to buy fabrics and materials online which will be made available for pickup at locations around the city, with Spotlight implementing click and collect in 15 stores.

Spotlight customers can purchase online and nominate their closest store within a 5km radius. And upon arrival can contact the team inside from their car, present their proof of purchase and ID and have the staff member put the items in the boot without ever coming in contact with the customer.

Orders will be ready for pickup in between 24-48 hours, and can be collected between 10am and 4pm.

The offer could go some way to help Melbournians create their own face masks, which are mandatory across Victoria for anyone leaving their home for any approved reason.

“[We’re] committed to helping Victorian families get through this pandemic with access to the materials and items they need, at the time they need them the most,” said Spotlight CEO Quentin Gracanin.

One of the issues of recent weeks, however, has been that many cloth masks are falling short of health recommendations – though the health department did release guidelines for home-made masks.

The offer will roll out across the rest of Victoria from next Monday, 17 August.
