NightOwl rolls out new look

nightowlNightOwl has opened its sixth store in Townsville under its new ‘store of the future’ model.

The new look store is the first of its kind in North Queensland and only the second within the NightOwl convenience chain.

“It’s not just another convenience store,” Gaurav Patel, store owner, said of the Flinders St outlet.

“The concept of the convenience outlet has evolved and customers can find everything from basic groceries to confectionery and snacks and a wide range of ready made meals.

“The store of the future concept is about providing a one stop shop for customers’ needs.”

The 162sqm outlet is open 24 hours a day and is the sixth NightOwl store in Townsville.

The store features an extensive food service offering including grab and go healthy options such as wraps and toasted sandwiches, and ready made meal solutions. Over the coming months, it will expand to include innovations such as a ‘Fun Wall’ offering gelato, confectionery and frozen drinks.

An instore Owl Café’ with seating will also eventually open offering a range of sweet treats such as donuts, cakes, and danishes and its own brand of ‘Hooting Good’ coffee.

Patel said the revitalisation of Flinders St offered an exciting opportunity for NightOwl.

“The council has put a lot of effort into making Flinders St a convenient place to visit, shop, eat and relax, and our new store fits perfectly into that vision,” he said.

“The NightOwl concept has been doing wonderfully well in Townsville and we believe this innovative new store model will be popular with both locals and visitors.”

Established in 1975 as an individual store in the Brisbane suburb of Auchenflower, NightOwl operates 64 stores throughout Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

The first NightOwl store of the future opened in Windsor in Brisbane’s inner north last December.
