Myer marketer departs

myerTara Lordsmith has resigned as group general manager marketing of Myer after less than a year in the role.

Lordsmith was appointed to the position within the department store in January 2015. Prior to this Lordsmith  was GM marketing at FMCG business, Simplot, for a decade before leaving in 2013 and starting her own marketing consultancy firm, Lordsmith & Co.

Daniel Bracken, chief merchandising and marketing officer, said in a statement Lordsmith resigned from Myer to return to the company she founded, Lordsmith & Co.

“We thank Tara for her contribution, and her enthusiasm and passion, and wish her well,” Bracken said.

“I am very confident in the bench strength of our team to continue to lead the marketing function while we review our future options.”

A spokesperson from Myer said a replacement has not been appointed.
