Woolworths brings Black Friday deals to the supermarket

Woolworths is participating in Black Friday for the second time, offering discounts on hundreds of products online.

While consumers might not typically think of nabbing a deal from their local supermarket – research suggests that electronics and apparel are the most popular categories – Woolworths is seizing the opportunity to increase sales by slashing prices on a number household and beauty products, as well as its main category: food.

Online customers have the opportunity today to get their hands on hundreds of products at half price until midnight on Friday, or while stocks last.

Customers can opt to pick up their deals from their nearest store or have them delivered to their door.

Amazon Australia is also offering discounts on its recently launched range of pantry products as well as other categories site-wide in its first ever Australian Black Friday and Cyber Monday event. The retailer’s deals will continue until 23:59 on Monday, November 26.

“We are delighted to bring our first ever Black Friday Deals Event to Australian customers with tens of thousands of products available at discounted prices,” Rocco Braeuniger, country manager of Amazon Australia, said in a statement.

“With deals on everything from active wear brands such as Lorna Jane and Puma, to everyday essentials such as Nivea and big brand skin care products, to consoles such as PS4, Nintendo and Xbox, we hope there is something for everyone.”

It is so satisfying to see that so many retailers are getting on board a really innovative selling technique - "50% off discounting". Wish I had thought of that!!!

Honestly, you're all like sheep, aren't you? If I was in advertising or marketing, I would be ashamed to just copy what everyone else is doing. Is there noone with any imagination to actually introduce a campaign which is original?
