The Australian dollar had risen Thursday and was trading at 74.13 US cents at 0820 AEST, up from 74.07 US cents on Wednesday.

One Australian dollar buys 82.74 Japanese yen, from 83.04 ; 63.52 euro cents, from 63.41 ; 56.42 British pence, from 56.48 ; 109.09 NZ cents, from 109.05.
