Status, a brand new Australian-owned retail concept offering consumers access to the world’s leading brands and accessories, is opening its first store in Westfield Chatswood this month.
A second store will follow in Westfield Bondi Junction and an online store is already trading.
Founder and MD Jeff Burnes describes Status as “a combined in-store and online shopping experience” with a unique, style-inspired environment offering watch and jewellery enthusiasts access to brands such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, Lacoste, Guess, Diesel, Armani Exchange, DKNY and Michael Kors along with a number of exclusive brands, products and unique lines from both domestic and international accessory companies.
“Status was developed from a desire to have one view of our customers. Our approach is to improve how we connect, regardless of whether that is through our website or face-to-face in store. We want to provide a fun and inspiring journey for the consumer and ensure we provide the best product and service solutions and reward them for their loyalty”.
Status will offer from launch access to an A+ Rewards Program, where reward points are earned not only on birthdays and anniversaries through social media activations, but with every purchase made, regardless of online or in store. In addition to this, members will also receive exclusive invitations, free gifts upon purchase and collection previews before anyone else.
The online store will offer 24 hour despatch and free shipping when customers spend over $100 and a worldwide price match guarantee offering globally competitive prices for Australian customers.
“This means our shoppers are receiving the best deals in the world,” said Burnes.
Status says it has focused on recruiting “well trained, knowledgeable staff” who are passionate about the products and the brands in store, together with technology which sees traditional retail methods challenged through a heightened customer experience.
Sales Staff are equipped with a MPOS (mobile point of sales) devise, which will enable sales staff to service and transact sales out on the shop floor and at the relative brand display areas. This will provide a more engaging customer experience and provide sales staff with the ability to freely move around the store, with their customers, as though they are a personal shopper.
The unified experience between online and offline concepts, says Burnes, is that Status is able to offer product and sales opportunities through either channel. Customers can try styles on in store and then purchase online through the Status website, based on stock availability, consideration purchase or convenience.
