Ken Rosebery is leaving The Cheesecake Shop (TCS) in January after 13 years heading up the dessert retailer.
Rosebery will help the transition of the new managing director over the next few months and work with the firm’s shareholder River Capital. He will remain on The Cheesecake Shop Board Advisory Committee.
Andrew Rennie, executive chairman of TCS, told Franchise Executives “We are very happy with all the work Ken has done at The Cheesecake Shop, the business is in a great position, franchisees are very profitable, the business is
very profitable.
Rennie said the business had seen good growth under River Capital’s ownership.
Who will be The Cheesecake Shop boss?
Domino’s UK and Ireland operations chief Scott Bush is taking on the managing director role at TCS.
“We believe Scott is the ideal person to take the business to the next level along with the leadership team,” said Rennie. “He has a high level of connection with franchisees. We have over 200 franchisees and realistically we could double our business just with the franchisees we have, Scott can help franchisees see the bigger picture,” he said.
Bush has been with Domino’s Pizza Enterprises for almost 16 years, starting as a delivery driver. He has also been a store manager, a franchisee, corporate state manager and GM of the New Zealand business.
He held the NZ role for five years before taking on the UK and Ireland operations director role in 2018.
Ken Rosebery retires
Rosebery posted on LinkedIn the news of his upcoming retirement.
“We have enjoyed record growth and profitability over the last few years and now is a good time to pass the baton to Scott,” he said.
“It has been an immense privilege to lead The Cheesecake Shop over so many years and to work with and get to know staff, franchisees, and suppliers. I will of course miss that personal interaction. Every change in life is an opportunity to rejuvenate and prosper. The same is true for The Cheesecake Shop as it is for me personally. The world is now full of more possibilities.”
Rosebery told Franchise Executives he plans initially to “catch up on my bucket list adventures and outdoor activities” but expects to stay connected with the franchise sector.
“I’m interested in franchising and other possibilities,” he said.
Before TCS Rosebery was the CEO for franchisor Fastway Couriers Australia. His previous roles included MD of Australian Geographic.
