New conference targets franchises

Australian retail franchisees grappling with the ever-increasing world of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are invited to the Social Franchising Summit in Sydney this April.

The conference, which is being billed as the first of its kind in the country, aims to teach small to medium franchisees how to use social media to their benefit.

Diane Leonard, founder of summit organiser FranchOut, said attendees will “learn new ways of taking their social media marketing activities from good to great”.

Fans of the US franchise success story, Tasti D-Lite, will be treated to a keynote address for American writer BJ Emerson, co-author of The Tasti D-Lite Way.

Emerson has been awarded a variety of accolades for his integration of Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare into the ice-cream chain’s marketing strategy.

Other speakers include Facebook’s Mark Cowan, Facebook advertiser Victoria Gibson, and B2B social media expert, Tom Skotidas.

The Social Franchsing Summit will be held on 9 April at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney.
