Huawei doubles down on Australia, launching second experience store in Sydney

Chinese technology manufacturer Huawei is launching its second experience store in World Square, Sydney tomorrow, Thursday 1st October.

The store will feature Huawei’s PC’s, wearables, smartphones, audio and accessories, and will allow customers to test out the brand’s products’ ecosystem and photography capabilities through an interactive photography bay.

It will also house a dedicated training area and a service bar to provide personalised help and information for customers.

“We have always valued engagement and connection with our customers, and we remain committed to this and invested in the Australian market,” said Larking Huang, marketing director of Huawei consumer business in Australia.

“We have strived to create a store for our Australian consumers that not only showcases the latest innovative products that can enhance their everyday lives, but also provides a place where customers and developers can get together to learn, share, innovate and discover.”

The launch of a second Sydney store shows Huawei is keen to continue expanding in the region despite the fact the Australian government banned the business from extending its telco operations to Australia.

In 2018, Huawei was blocked from bringing its 5G network to Australia despite the fact, according to former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s autobiography A Bigger Picture, there was no evidence the company had committed any wrongdoing.
