Young retailer nominations open

NRAThe National Retail Association (NRA) has opened nominations for the 2015 Young Retailer of the Year Award.

The annual Young Retailer of the Year Award recognises excellence in leadership, innovation, and industry knowledge in the Australian retail sector.

All retailers under the age of 25 are eligible to enter the award, with the winner scoring a two week, all expenses paid place on the Westfield World Retail Study Tour.

Now in its 42nd year, the award showcases young individuals who actively make a difference in retail businesses, from shop floors to head offices across the country.

NRA CEO, Trevor Evans, said the award gives young retailers under 25 the chance to showcase the ways they’ve been driving innovation in the retail sector.

“Our 2015 nominees are the epitome of excellence in their chosen field and a great example of how strong, exciting and dynamic a career in the retail industry can be,” Evans said.

Next month the 2014 NRA Young Retailer of the Year, Joanna Zurzolo, will be joining a team of retail executives on the Westfield World Retail Study Tour.

Zurzolo said winning the award has given her the confidence to seek further opportunities to challenge herself.

“My aspirations in retail have no limit. With a career in retail, every day I have the privilege to motivate and mentor my team to achieve their own personal goals while fostering and encouraging a positive team culture by working together to achieve our company’s goals,” Zurzolo said.

Nominations for the Young Retailer of the Year Award close on Friday July 3, 2015.

All nominees will receive complimentary entry to the Future of Retail Forum, with finalists also receiving a complimentary ticket to the Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony to be held on Monday September 7, 2015 at the Sydney Sofitel.
