US-based online jewellery retailer, Ice, has launched an Australian website.

Founded by Pinny Gniwisch in 1999 with $1, Ice is now the largest jewellery site in the US. Iceonline.com.au carries with more than 1500 jewellery pieces including rings, bracelets, earrings, and necklaces.

The Australian arm of Ice is run by 22 year old entrepreneur, Nick Molnar, who says he saw a gap in the Australian market at university when he started selling jewellery on eBay.

Within a year, the Sydneysider had become eBay’s largest seller in the jewellery category.

“I was shocked none of the big retail chains here were operating in this space so decided to challenge them,” says Molnar.
