Sephora sets date

sephoraGlobal cosmetics giant, Sephora, is set to open its first Australian store in Sydney this year.

Sephora, the fastest growing brand in the LVMH luxury goods group, is expected to open its first store in December at Westfield Sydney.

Last month, The Australian Financial Review reported that the cosmetics giant had been considering teaming up with a local retailer to tackle the Australian market, holding talks with department stores David Jones and Myer, but decided to go it alone following its recent success with standalone stores in Asia.

It has reportedly earmarked around 25 stores for the Australian market.

Founded in Paris in 1970, Sephora was acquired by LVMH in 1997 and has grown rapidly, with more than 1400 stores in 30 countries.
