Napoleon builds on empire

NapoleonOne of the country’s most recognisable make up chains is expanding its Australian presence with the relaunch of a new Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics website expected later this month.

The new website will act as a portal to also launch a Napoleon Perdis Life.Style site, due in early 2015.

Major features of the new sites will be the ability to purchase vintage items, ready to wear international designer pieces, jewellery, accessories, and home decor.

The site will include a fashion forecast and trend blog, video features of designer collections, collaborations, and contributions from style setters.

The Life.Style concept is an extension of the Napoleon Perdis cosmetics line and the embodiment of its namesakes philosophy of ‘living a creative, full, and richly layered life’.

Since launching Life.Style in 2012 at Woollahra, NSW, it has grown to four stores, with the latest opening at Melbourne’s Emporium.

“I am a passionate traveller and collector who’s always sought out the unusual and unique,” Napoleon Perdis told Inside Retail PREMIUM.

“This forms the basis for the collection at Life.Style retail stores and sourcing some of the world’s most coveted items,” he said.

Perdis is looking to grow the Life.Style retail concept to eight stores by June 2015, and is considering opening in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth.

“I look for retail destinations which are developing as shopping injections within communities, or are on the verge of becoming key for that area. Each of my Life. Style store settings is referential of a luxury destination environment.”

Life.Style stores offer exclusive ready to wear collections, luxury accessories, jewellery, and homewares, with the Emporium store introducing Paris label, American Retro, and accessories from Macon & Lesquoy and Royal Blush to sit alongside Napoleon Perdis cosmetics.

The Emporium store includes movable fixtures, custom lighting and chandeliers, a photo wall, and versatile layout where everything is interchangeable.

“My Life.Style business is evolving into a mini department store and offering consumers a concierge experience within a customised environment. Each store is part of an evolving trend and adapted to suit that environment.

“It is focused strongly on instore experience with emphasis on product discovery, plus the one to one customer consultation and service.”
