Meredith & Moore enters voluntary administration

Meredith & MooreWomen’s fashion retailer, Meredith & Moore has been placed in voluntary administration but continues to trade.

The Melbourne-based apparel company, which operates an online store, 16 retail stores and three outlet stores across Australia and New Zealand, has collapsed into voluntary administration and according to the PBB Advisory website, Daniel Walley, Alan Walker and Nicholas Martin have been appointed voluntary administrators of the company.

According to the announcement, the business continues to trade while the administrators “undertake a review of the business, working closely with its management team and stakeholders to assess the current position of the company and identify opportunities to restructure the business for the future.”

The first meeting of creditors will be on April 6 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

The brand has run several sale promotions following the holiday season, including offering 70 per cent off on selected stock. The most recent sale, which the company has posted on their website, involved discounting stock by up to 50 per cent.

Meredith & Moore was founded in 1962 as “Meredith”, a fashion and lifestyle brand, which specialised in women’s knitwear, jackets and coats.
