Australian online fashion retailer James & Co has launched dedicated websites in the UK and the US as sustainable fashion continues to grow in popularity.
James & Co designs, manufactures, and sells ‘faux’ leather fashion and accessories.
The online pureplay was founded by Anne Hurley in 2012 selling products that are sustainable and animal free. In Australia, online retail sales rose 12 per cent year on year in 2014.
“The philosophy behind our brand – offering products that combine quality, affordable prices, ethics and humanitarianism – is one that has strongly resonated with the UK and US markets,” said Hurley.
“With 2014 named the year of the vegan, and PETA’s launch of their first ever Vegan Fashion Awards, interest in ethically produced fashion has increased in demand in parallel with growing concerns about animal welfare and healthy lifestyles.”
James & Co officially launched their products in the US in October 2013 and in the UK in November 2014 through Amazon.
Since then, online sales of jackets and accessories have continued to grow with accessories reaching 100 per cent increase in sales year on year.
“As online shopping trends continue to gain ground, we saw an opportunity to launch our brand internationally by establishing a local web domain aimed at providing the best shopping experience for our customers.”
The launches of the new websites now allow customers in the US and UK to order products directly through the website in their own currency and offers free, local delivery.
