Wearable blanket brand The Oodie has recalled its Kids Beach Oodie range due to safety concerns that they may pose a fire risk.
According to Product Safety Australia, there is a risk of “serious burn injuries” if the product is exposed to a heat or flame source.
The range has been recalled since it does not have the required fire hazard warnings, which goes against the mandatory safety standards for children’s nightwear.
The recall only applies to products sold between September 29 last year and July 14 this year. The range includes six prints – the blue tie-dye, avocado, happy flowers, charcoal, fruit faces and stripes.
Customers are advised to contact the company to receive a fire warning label with instructions to attach to their Beach Oodie products. They can also request for a replacement from the Kids Beach range in exchange for the non-compliant product.
The company will also be sending affected consumers an email with the above remedies.
