Woolworths has unveiled a multi-million dollar Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) in Brisbane, Queensland.
The 10,000sqm purpose-built warehouse facility sits 18km from the CBD at Goodman’s Rochedale Motorway Estate and has space for 25,000 products.
The company says this is the only CFC facility in its network to offer a Direct-to-Boot service. Combining deliveries and pickups, the company expects to fulfil 30,000 customer orders a week.
Sally Copland, Woolworths MD for EComX, said Brisbane shoppers have “truly embraced” online grocery shopping to reclaim time in their busy lives.
“Over the past three years, we’ve seen the demand for online groceries in Metro Brisbane more than triple, a trend we are actually seeing across the entire state of Queensland.
“The opening of Rochedale CFC will provide a major boost to our same-day delivery capacity in Brisbane’s southwest, unlocking faster and more flexible online shopping options for our customers.”
The warehouse features rainwater harvesting, smart metering to reduce energy consumption, and has 850 solar panels on its roof that will supply about 20 per cent of the site’s annual electricity requirements.
