Beacon Lighting’s positive results

Beacon-LightingLighting retailer, Beacon Lighting Group, posted a 7.7 per cent increase in sales to $193.2 million for the 52 weeks ending June 26, with the strongest results coming from New South Wales and solid sales growth coming from the company’s Commercial, Beacon International and Online businesses.

The group saw a 9.1 per cent increase in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to $29.9 million. Statutory gross profit dollars increased by 7.0 per cent and statutory NPAT up 8.0 per cent to $18.3 million.

Underlying gross profit increased by 6.4 per cent over FY 2015 with a gross profit margin of 63.9 per cent. The strong gross profit margin, the company said, was achieved as a result of new product releases, price management, stock management and favourable foreign exchange position at the start of FY2016.

“Through effective management of expenses, Beacon Lighting was able to deliver productivity gains and reduce operating expenses by 0.9 per cent of sales when compared to FY2015,” the company stated.

Beacon Lighting also announced it will roll out approximately six new company stores for the year.
