Australian dollar falls

The Australian dollar has fallen against its US counterpart Wednesday, buying 70.92 US cents from 71.03 US cents on Tuesday.

The local currency was trading at 71.02 US cents yesterday morning from 71.12 US cents on Monday.

It was at 70.80 US cents Monday morning from 70.84 US cents on Friday.

Last Friday, the local currency strengthened to 70.84 US cents from 70.62 US cents on Thursday.

One Australian dollar traded at 79.12 Japanese yen on Friday, from 78.79 on Thursday ; 62.60 euro cents, from 62.39 ; 53.50 British pence, from 53.31 and 103.44 NZ cents, from 103.25.
