McDonald’s says its third quarter profit rose five per cent, as the world’s biggest hamburger chain benefited from a Monopoly promotion in the US and strength in the UK and Russia. The company says it earned $US1.52 billion ($A1.58 billion), or $1.52 per share, for the quarter ended September 30. That compares with $US1.46 billion, or $1.43 per share, last year.
