River Island beefs up local presence

 

riverislandRiver Island has launched a southern hemisphere exclusive range on its dedicated Australian website as the UK retailer names Australia as a “key” market for the brand.

“Following our expansion into the southern hemisphere, we have identified Australia as one of our key new markets,” Josie Roscop, marketing director of River Island, said.

The exclusive capsule collection is a “fusion of relaxed daywear and party apparel” and is available for Australian consumers online.

“We wanted to create a unique offer specifically suited to the fashion savvy Australian consumer. Since launching our online site, Australia has remained in our top four performing countries across international markets,” Roscop said.

To celebrate the release of the range, River Island’s Summer 15 campaign features a fashion adaptation of the Cricket Ashes dubbed, The Fashion Ashes, which includes Australian model, Elle Brittain, and UK- based model, Bee Beardsworth.

River Island has nearly 300 stores across the UK, Ireland, and internationally throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
