Ashmore City undergoes major makeover

Ashmore City shopping centre is undergoing a multimillion-dollar makeover, and being transformed into a major medical and allied health hub.

In the first step of the centre’s planned transformation existing tenant Ashmore City Medical Centre is relocating to 313sqm space within the main shopping centre building, on which it has taken a 10-year lease.

The medical centre is planning a $350,000 fitout for the new premises, which comes amid a $2.5 million upgrade being undertaken by the centre owner and a $750,000 refurbishment by ANZ Bank, the Courier-Mail newspaper reports.

“With this important piece in place we can now leverage off the improved tenancy mix to develop a strong medical and allied-health precinct together with other specialty retail offerings within the main shopping centre,” Angelo Efstathis, the managing director of centre manager First Asset Management, told the newspaper.

Ashmore City has 40 tenancies and is anchored by Drakes Supermarket, Chempro, Stacks Variety, Liquorland and Australia Post.
