China stitches up Western apparel makers for quality issues

All eyes are on Canadian athletic apparel brand Lululemon, after it was fined for selling poor quality down-feather vests in China.The high-end yoga wear maker was fined more than 81,000 RMB ($16,700) and had US$3,500 of illegal income confiscated by the Beijing Xicheng District Market Supervision Bureau for its subpar products.Lululemon is the latest name in a long list of Western brands Beijing’s market regulator has cracked down on for selling poor-quality products.
