Footwear retailer, Tony Bianco, has launched a new store concept in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, with the aim of rolling it out to all future stores. The first new concept store is its flagship on iconic Melbourne fashion strip, Chapel St, South Yarra. Prospace Design Studios is the company responsible for Tony Bianco’s new direction. Senior designer, Ben Perman, said the brief was to infuse the quality and detail of the product into a space that evokes the feeling of iconic fas
hion destinations, such as New York’s Meatpacking District, and London’s high street.
“Since the completion of Chapel St, we have rolled out the new concept to Tony Bianco’s Paddington store in Sydney, Indooroopilly shopping centre, Brisbane, and three concession stores in Myer in Sydney, Melbourne, and Chadstone,” said Perman.
The new look was achieved through the use of a simple palette of lime washed aged oak, black steel, supple tan leather, cement, and black leather strapping, says Perman.
“The fixture system was designed to be more a collection of furniture, featuring hand crafted brass and timber tables, shelving units with slabs of cement and monolithic plinths combined with leather screens.
“Reclaimed solid timber slabs were used at the rear of the store, hand finished and stacked to create a platform for the brands latest releases.
“There are also smaller intimately lit pockets within to showcase individual styles, on recessed LED screens.”
