pearance of job ads for staff for a Sydney store.
With applications closing on August 29 for staff in both Brisbane and Sydney across the positions of store manager, assistant store manager, sales supervisor, sales assistant, store merchandise manager, and instore merchandiser, it would seem the opening of the stores is imminent.
A Brisbane store was announced for Queen St Mall late last year and is expected to open in the last quarter of 2014, however, a Sydney opening has not yet been announced. Both the timing of the recruitment drive, and the availability of space adequate to house a Forever 21 store fit with Macquarie Centre as its location.
The final stage of Macquarie Centre’s redevelopment is scheduled to open in October, and will include four international fast fashion retailers, two of which have already been named as Uniqlo and Zara. With Forever 21 now all but confirmed, Inside Retail expects the inclusion of H&M as the fourth international for the centre.
Despite rampant speculation, AMP Capital is keeping mum on its international anchors, with a full announcement of its high profile tenants expected closer to the centre’s official unveiling.
