When designing the third Samsung Experience store, design consultancy, Greater Group, said it needed to raise the bar even higher for the electronics brand, aiming to create a destination that both engages and inspires customers. Located on the third level of Melbourne Central, the Samsung Experience Store is designed to be warm and welcoming to customers, while at the same time maintaining a modern and digitally savvy look. The 350sqm store is fitted out with a mix of wood and
d slate flooring to encourage customers to move easily from each section of the store.
A 15m curved illuminated sky mirrors the product zone, while digital installations create points of focus around the store.
The customer experience starts at the front of the store with a large interactive wall wrapping around the adjacent service riser.
The seamless integration of digital is repeated with screens wrapped around the shop front column and a vertical screen sculpture that hangs from the ceiling, a beacon for customers to the product lifestyle and experience area.
Bob Angley, creative director, Greater Group, said the agency wanted to create a destination store that interacts with customers through rich experiences.
“After designing and launching the first two experience stores for Samsung in Highpoint, Melbourne and George St, Sydney, we needed to create a store which lifted the bar even higher for Samsung as a brand,” Angley said.
“The success of this project is due to our holistic approach to design and the strong relationship we have with Samsung, taking them every step of the way from concept to completion.”
