Ebos Hall of Fame chairman retires
Pharmaceutical supplier Ebos Group has announced the retirement of chairman Mark Maller (pictured), who played a pivotal role in the business’s growth over his 27-year tenure.
Waller will stay on until the conclusion of its upcoming AGM, when he will be succeeded by current independent director Elizabeth Coutts.
Ebos Group owns Terry White Chemmart, Ebos Healthcare, Symbion, ProPharma, Animates and Black Hawk pet care, among others.
After joining the business in 1984 as chief financial officer, Waller went on to become chief executive in 1987 and led an ambitious growth strategy, which took Ebos from annual revenues of approximately $8 million to more than $6 billion.
Waller stepped down as chief executive in 2014, and assumed the role of chairman in 2015. This month, he was inducted into the New Zealand Business Hall of Fame.
Catch executive joins Betfair
Tim Guille has stepped down as general manager of people and culture at Catch Group to join Betfair Australia, again as head of people and culture.
Guille has been with Catch Group since September 2016.
His departure is just the latest at the pioneering online retailer. Earlier this month, founders Gabby and Hezi Leibovich left the business following its acquisition by Wesfarmers in June for $230 million.
Guille has a keen interest in sport, particularly horse racing. He has been a committee member of the Mornington Racing Club since 2014. In addition to his various day jobs, he has since 2008, been a contributor to Sporting Media, writing for print, digital and radio outlets. Catch Group operates an online marketplace selling products such as food and liquor, clothing, footwear, furniture, sporting goods, electronics and games. It owns Catch.com.au, Mumgo, Grocery Run, Brands Exclusive and The Home and runs two fulfilment centres in Victoria. It has some 1.5 million active customers, according to the Australian Financial Review.
