Why Toys ‘R’ Us is investing in robots for peak trading season

An army of robots have been recruited to help Toys ‘R’ Us manage Christmas trading — the peak period for toy sales. The company has made an initial investment of $2 million in robot technology at its new warehouse in Dandenong South alongside a state-of-the-art warehouse management system. The Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) have been introduced to increase capacity and efficiency of logistics processes. Dr Louis Mittoni, CEO and managing director of Toys ‘R’ Us ANZ
