Supermarket Coles is getting ready to reopen its Lismore store, months after it was destroyed by devastating floods.

Cheryl Muirhead, store manager at Coles Lismore, said that although the past few months had been challenging, she couldn’t be prouder of her team.

“Seventeen of our team members lost everything. Every single team member has been impacted in some way, big or small,” said Muirhead. “However, it has been so heart-warming to see everyone in Lismore put their hand up to help others, including our incredible store team.”

After the closure due to flood damage, Coles continued to serve the community via a pop-up tent in the city’s CBD. An estimated 65 pallets of essential groceries were trucked in twice a week to ensure that there was an ample supply of essentials.

The Lismore team members also rallied in support, hosting initiatives such as fundraising events and volunteer work at the evacuation centres.

“The whole store team couldn’t be more excited to get back into the store, which includes more than a dozen team members who have been at Coles for over 20 years. It is home to us, and we can’t wait to return to helping and serving our customers,” she added.

The all-new store will feature a large fresh produce section, as well as an extended range of ready-made meals. The deli section will include hot roast chickens, a range of gourmet cheeses, and seafood.

In addition, it will serve freshly flipped flatbread, pastries, cakes, and a frozen dessert bar offering gelato, macarons, and mochi. A Scoop & Weigh pet treat bar will also be offering puppy snacks in-store.

Click&Collect concierge is also available, allowing shoppers to drive through dedicated lanes to have their online grocery orders delivered straight to their vehicles.

Coles Lismore will officially re-open to shoppers on July 15.
