Wesfarmers boss leads execs for B20

 

Coles,supermarketWesfarmers MD, Richard Goyder, will lead a group of senior business people to advise the government on policy as Australia takes over the presidency of the Group of 20 leaders forum next year.

Goyder, who is chair of the group of business leaders known as the B20, said the taskforce heads would concentrate on a policy area that is fundamental to global economic growth and job creation.

“We believe the best way we can help to drive strong, sustainable economic growth and create jobs is to work collaboratively on the key areas that will deliver a better environment for investment,” he said.

ANZ CEO Mike Smith, Telstra CEO David Thodey, BHP Billiton CEO Andrew Mackenzie, and GE Australia president Steve Sargent will head four separate taskforces.

The G20/B20 Leaders Summit will be held in Brisbane in November next year.
