Wesfarmers board members depart

ColesTwo of the longest serving directors of Coles owner, Wesfarmers, will step down from the board in November.

Charles Macek joined the company in 2001 and has provided significant financial and economic advice on the company’s investment opportunities, chairman Bob Every said.

Colin Carter has been on the board since 2002, and has proved an invaluable source of corporate governance advice in that period, Every said.

Both directors will come to the end of their terms when Wesfarmers holds its annual general meeting on November 20, and will not seek re-election.
